Content Overview
Conflict can occur between individuals, groups and organisations and can vary in intensity. All require effective management intervention. Today’s managers need to be equipped with a range of skills and techniques to identify and prevent conflict and to effectively manage conflict situations.
This programme considers why conflict occurs in the workplace and how personal style and conflict resolution can have a considerable impact on organisational effectiveness. An exploration of both theoretical and real conflict issues is considered, relevant resolution techniques described, and role play is used to enhance the learning experience.
Topics such as assertiveness, body language, the importance of keeping records and coping with the stress of conflict are explored. The ability to build trust and rapport with different personalities in the team together with an exploration of emotional intelligence allows candidates to operate in a professional and confident manner when managing conflict.
